Last night around 1 :30 am I received a call from my daughter who was crying
hysterically as she told me that her husband's convoy had been ambushed in Iraq.
Amazingly, Jim was able to call her about an hour after the incident took place when he
returned to his base. He said that they were shot at on all sides, but no bullets were
able to penetrate his Humvee. The tires were blown out and the motor
burned and they lost radio contact, but they were OK. Jim said they were just issued a
new Humvee which was better equipped to withstand bullets. But, I know it was God's
protection over his life and the men in his squad that saved all of them, not a new
Humvee. Only one man was slightly burned during this ambush. Jim was in charge and
is responsible for the 8 men in his squad and he was praised after the incident for his
quick thinking and the orders he gave to save his men. Jim told Jennifer that he was
praying during the whole incident. To God be the glory!! Before he left, I told him
that ifhe prayed that the Holy Spirit would give him wisdom and knowledge and order
his steps. I told him to stand on Psalm 91 and Isaiah 54: 17. This whole incident is such a
testimony that God has heard and honored all of our prayers for Jim.

Dear Pastor Wayne and Pastor
Maryann. I wanted to let you
know about a new job
opportunity that came to me a
few weeks ago. My manager
has been trying to get me
promoted for several years
now. but my name has been
bumped off of the promotion
list each time. In the development
lab where I work. programmers
are always promoted before
technical writers. Programming
skills are highly valued. Even
though I have been faithful and
working very hard. A Promotion
just hasn't happened for me.

The Following Letter was submitted to The Sound of Life Radio for Pastor Appreciation Month:
I would like to submit my pastors to be recognized for "Clergy Appreciation Month".
Pastors Wayne and Maryann Berry: of "John 3:16 Church"! I first met them on Sept 12, 1998,at
the Grand Hotel. I had the honor and privilege of being the head waitress for their daughter
Maria and their new son-in-law to be Michael Doreo's Wedding! Upon opening the door, as the
Bridal Party entered the Grande Hotel, the glory of God was all around them! When Pastor
Maryann Berry entered , with the biggest smile and laughter, my heart began to beat!! | could
actually see the bright light all around! My friends had been going to John 3:16 for a few years
and had invited me to attend! Now I could see why! As I began talking to Pastor Wayne and
Pastor Maryann about my friends; they were so enthusiastic and caring! I also found out that
Pastor Maryann; while in the lady's room, had ministered to the head cleaning lady; who was
going through a difficult time in her life! Pastor Maryann prayed with this woman and the
woman also accepted Jesus into her heart!! Awesome! The Wedding of Michael and Maria was
Superb! Pastors Wayne and Maryann Berry gave such wonderfulBlessings to their children!
Not only had they Blessed their children; but they had Blessed me; the head waitress and
every waitress, with the biggest tip ever!!l! l just had to go visit "John 3:16 Church"! I went with
my friends in September of 1998 and have been going ever since! Pastor Wayne and Maryann
Berry are the best couple God has ever put together! They are the best teachers, preachers,
and caring pastors!! They serve us at many functions and share their special gifting with us!
They want us to develop in God's word and be the best that the Lord wants us to be! The
word of God comes alive; when they preach!!! ln times of need, they are there! Always
uplifting words of encouragement and love! They believe in being big givers, for the Kingdom
of God!!!"Give and it will be given"!! l just cannot say enough about these two!! They have a
"Joy unspeakable" and bring so much laugher to all of us! I would love for them to have
breakfast with Joe and Tom (of the Sound of Life Radio)! They have waited on us so many
times! Served us dinners, folded tables, set up,cleaned, and have done it all! I know that all of
us at "John 3:16," wish Pastor's Wayne and Maryann Berry,, the Best "Pastor's Appreciation
Day " ever! We Love You!

In our children' ministry class, the
children had a debate in regards to
what the pyramids were made of.
Pastor Maryann happen to visit the
class when this was going on and
listened. Afterwards Pastor told the
students that they had a homework
assignment which was to write an
essay on how the pyramids were
built and to back it up with scripture.
The one with the best explanation

The Power of Prayer
July 2010

when she told her stepdad that we were all praying for him, he got teary eyed. She said she
loved the prayer I prayed with her and she had never heard prayer like it. She was brought up
Mormon. She asked me what I was and I just said, "A Christian". She thought that was great and
she said that she would never forget this experience. Praise God for His faithfulness and the
opportunity to plant seed for her whole family! Thank you Pastors for continuing to teach us
the word and the power of prayer!

WE ARE BLESSED BECAUSE YOU SAID WE ARE BLESSED. OUR FAMILY, OUR CHILDREN, OUR
HOUSEHOLDS, OUR FINANCES, OUR PASTORS WAYNE & MARYANN, THEIR FAMILY, OUR CHURCH FAMILY
AT JOHN 3:16 CHRISTIAN CENTER, OUR MARRIAGE IS BLESSED.

GOD I WILL NOT FORGET WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME. YOU GAVE YOUR ONLY BEGOTTEN SON WHO

July 2010 - Thank you almighty God for answering prayer. Last month a new owner/manager took over my
parents' building. There are new cameras in the lobby, elevator and hallways. Work is being done to the
roof. A repairman is working on the intercom system that hasn't worked in years. New tile replaced the old
tile in the bathroom tub and shower area. The building is kept cleaner. There's brand new lighting so the
lobby is much brighter.

Father in Heaven I know that you are not finished. I know you are waiting to perform your word in our lives.
We have to line up with your word then we will see the fruit of it. Only by the power of the Holy Spirit I can
stay in the battle and fight until I go home to be with you or the Messiah returns. Thank you. I love you. I
acknowledge that you are the only wise God. Amen.

November 2009 - Lord I need you more now than ever before. I know you
are right here with me. You said you will never leave me or forsake me. I
thank you for your word. You are the only one who can help me right
now. My parents' apt. building's owner or management have not been
providing the basic services of heat, hot water, elevator service,
cleanliness, etc. and it is not a healthy environment for two people who
worked nearly 50 yrs. of their 70+ years on this earth.
God your will be done in the place that you have prepared for them that
is more suitable for them to live while they are still with us here on
earth. I pray the peace of God for all of us involved. I pray that peace
that passes all understanding that is keeping our hearts and minds
through Messiah. Thank you Lord if you are for us who can be against
us. I thank you Lord that we are the head and not the tail, we come
behind in no good thing, thank you Lord that we put on and keep on the
armor of God. We have on the helmet of salvation, sword of the Spirit,
breastplate of righteousness, belt of truth and shoes of peace. Thank you
Lord you are sustaining us. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that we
move and live and have our being. Help us, open our eyes, open our
understanding and help us to remember that we can do all things
through Christ who strengthens us.

I Love My Father!
September 2010

On September 17, 2010, my friend faye, who had been in a nursing home for about a
year, spent her day being busy as usual
She trailed behind the nurses overseeing the care of other patients and being comical,
which all the nurses looked forward to.
During her little helpful trailings, she kept mentioning that her father was coming to
take her out for dinner that night.
No one gave it a second thought as Faye had some brain damage as a result of a heart
attack and fourteenminutes without oxygen.
She often said her father visited her, though he'd been dead many years.
That evening when the dinner tray was set at the table, Faye pushed it away once again
saying her father was coming to take her out to dinner.
She rested her head on her arms to wait for her father's arrival. Faye never woke up.
Her Father....The Father had come!

With the current economic times, do you
find yourself stuggling through? Layoffs,
no promotions/raises.......barely making it!
If you trust in the Lord , all things are
possible!!

June 2009

What I forgot to mention last Sunday when I spoke was that the Lord gave me a vision
about two weeks ago during praise and worship. In that vision, I saw Jim's convoy and I
saw a: huge angel laying over the top of Jim's humvee with her wings spread over the
sides of the doors. When I saw the angel, I knew it was a warring angel, a mighty angel
sent for protection. I knew that Jim and his squad would all be safe and it gave me
peace. I know that God gives us warnings and I didn't know it when I saw the vision, but
I now know the purpose of that vision. There can be no doubt that Jim and his men are
protected. The Lord speaks to me in the shower so many times and this morning while
getting ready for work the Lord showed me a vision of Jim and his men in a circle
praying Psalm 91 before leaving for their duties each day. Jennifer is going to let Jim
know about this vision and I know that these men will be praying together each day
after this close encounter with evil. I thank God that this is praise report to the power of
prayer and the protection of God. I thank God for your prayers and the prayers of my
church family.

My God shall supply all your
needs according to his riches

November 22, 2005

My manager received a call from another manager who was looking to fill a technical
writing position in his department and he wondered if my manager knew of anyone
who might be interested. She told me she immediately thought that I was qualified to
fill that position. She said that she was tired of my being disappointed each year over
not being promoted and that if it were just up to her, that I would have been promoted
several years ago. All promotions are approved in my company by several levels of
managers. My manager said she didn't know why she handed me the job requisition
because she didn't want to lose me, but she wanted me to be treated fairly and to
have a chance to pursue this opportunity. I immediately sent my resume to the hiring
manager and he responded that he wanted to interview me as soon as possible. He
asked me to meet him for lunch at a local rstaurant for the interview. At first the
thought of eating while being interviewed made me a bit uncomfortable and I would
have rather met him at his office. But I prayed and asked for peace and divine wisdom
before l met him.

After we talked for a while, he asked me if I was related to a particular person and I
told him yes, that he was my cousin. I asked him where he knew my cousin from and
he said he knew him from another local area church. When he said that, I told him that
I attended John 3:16. Without hesitation or asking me anything about my faith. he said
to me. "l wouldn't normally do this. but I feel it's OK now and would you mind if I pray
for our meeting and over our food?" I of course said "Yes. Please pray." I couldn't
believe that a manager in my company on an interview would be bold enough to pray
in a restaurant with a person he had just met. I think once he heard that I attended
John 3:16 that he knew I was a woman of God. Praise God!! Needless to say after that
the interview went very well and I felt in my spirit that this job was mine.Today, he
officially offered me the job and I accepted. I will begin working for him right after the
New Year. God is so good and this was a genuine manifestation of God's awesome
blessings. I didn't go looking for this, it was literally and spiritually handed to me and
God worked through my current manager to help put me in a place where I will
compete with my peers (other technical writers) for promotions and awards. lt's
even more amazing that this is like coming full circle for me because I will be working
with several other technical writers that I worked with years ago when I worked in
another company location. When my friends heard I was being interviewed. several of
them went directly to the hiring manager and highly recommended me. God is so
good!! I praise God for all His blessings and I am looking forward to this new position
and working for a Christian manager. To God be the glory!

And we urge you, brethren, to recognize
those who labor among you, and are over
you in the Lord and admonish you, and to
esteem them very highly in love for their
work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

October 16, 2006

Dear Pastors Wayne and Maryann,
A couple of Thursdays ago, I asked for
prayer, for the stepfather of my school
mentor. She told me that he had struggled
with cancer last year and the doctors were
saying that it might have spread to his
bones. Needless to say she was very upset. I
asked if I could pray with her and she was so
touched and accepted. I also told her that I
would ask the church to pray on Thursday
night, which we did. I spoke with her the
following week and she was extremely excited
to tell me that all of the tests came back
normal and there is no cancer. She said

When you press into God,
anything is possible!
